Ciao a tutti! Nell’agosto di quest’anno stavo accelerando in autostrada e un paio di settimane dopo ho ricevuto una lettera dalla polizia. Ho allegato una foto della lettera. La lettera conteneva anche un modulo in cui bisogna rispondere chi guidava, se sono d’accordo con la multa, ecc. La lettera indicava anche che questa procedura può essere eseguita online; la lettera allegata contiene il login/password per l’account personale del mio caso presso la polizia. Sono andato lì non appena ho ricevuto la lettera, ho inserito tutti i dati e l’ho inviata. Ho letto che dopo che hai ammesso di guidare e hai accettato la multa, la polizia deve inviarti una lettera indicando gli estremi per pagare la multa. Il problema è che non ho mai ricevuto una lettera del genere! Inoltre, da qualche parte alla fine di settembre ho inserito nuovamente il modulo online e ho inserito nuovamente tutti i dati, ma ancora nessun effetto! Non c’è ancora nessuna lettera della polizia con le istruzioni su come pagare la multa. Sono d’accordo con la multa e non mi dispiace i 40 euro; per disperazione, un paio di giorni fa ho trasferito questi 40 euro utilizzando i dettagli indicati nella lettera (sotto). per favore ditemi, sarebbe dovuta arrivare un’altra lettera oppure sono un completo idiota e avrei dovuto pagare subito 40 euro, senza aspettare la lettera?

This is the letter, that tells you, that you have to pay 40€ – 😉
It doesn’t say that there will be further correspondence. Quite the opposite: if you pay, the case is closed and nothing else will happen. If you pay you don’t even need to provide any additional info. The bank details are at the bottom of the letter.
The letter explicitely says that when you pay 40 EURos, the case is done and closed. You don’t need to do anything else and you will not get any other mail about this case.
By paying the fee everything is done. There was no need to sent them your details. They only need it if someone else was driving the car. (In this case they would sent the letter again to that person. 🙂 so no worries 😉

The payment informations are right at the bottom of it. you pay 40,00€ to this bank account and as a payment detail you enter the Verwendungszweck.
It is stated in the Letter that you just have to pay the fine and thats it. It is a little bit confusing the, that they dont statet that you should use one of the Bankdetails on the bottom of the Letter.
You could deny to pay and get the possibility to defend yourself, if you think, that there is something wrong worh this Letter.
Except the speeding, you did everything correct. Please dont speed in the future!

and yet it turns out I’m an idiot… thanks everyone for the answers. and if I am several months behind on my payment, what awaits me? Or do the German police give a warning before suing me?
