Never really understood the plan that Putin follows.
Resource rich nation with the government/Putin in control and skimming whatever they want from the profits. Makes zero sense throwing the nation into a war. Killing off the young people and suffering western sanctions.
“Protection against NATO” is a plain BS argument. All Russia has to do to be safe is to respect the borders it has, and stop invading the neighboring countries.
The cost of signing a document vs decades of sanctions and loss of wealth.

As long as Russians have access to potatoes and will make staple food and vodka out of them, they will persevere. FCK PTN.

Putin is to announce that Russia is foregoing the Ruble and officially adopting the Steam Points due to better exchange rates and stability 🙌

The sanctions don’t work. Please lift them immediately, though.

What nosedive? As much as I’d like this to be the case, it’s just fantasy.

If we’d find the balls to take his central bank’s assets frozen in our banks, and give them to ukraine it would go to 200 and the war would end.

Stupid headline. The Ruble isn’t in a “nosedive” it is simply carrying out a special gravity compliance operation and anyone who says differently had better stay away from upstairs windows.

There are old and new school Russian remedies for dealing with Ivan. Old school – summary trial then execution in the Kremlin courtyard; a la Beria style. New school – fall from a windowless Moscow building. Ivan can no longer afford caviar style polonium kills.
But seriously, all someone, or his inner circle, guards, etc, have to do is be paid off. Once that happens one way or the other he is DOA.

Good thing we created a black market currency for illegal activities and to break embargoes in this situation.

Nobody lives forever. Putin is already 72. He has 10-15 years at most, before he becomes senile.
Time will get rid of him and Xi Jinping

Nosedive is an exaggeration. It was 75 rubles to the dollar before the war started and is now 110 to the dollar so it’s only down about 35%. A large drop not a nosedive.

It started with Putin giving the Russian economy a headache. That’s the root cause. Now it’s a vicious cycle.

Putin is the Russian economy’s headache.
Western propaganda. Everything is fine. We got them exactly where we want them.
Good.

So -17.30% in 1 year time. Is that a nosedive?

Given the rise of Bitcoin’s value in the past months, I’m inclined to think a significant portion of russian wealth is now crypto – not only the government but also companies (see [Russia is using bitcoin in foreign trade, finance minister says | Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/markets/currencies/russia-is-using-bitcoin-foreign-trade-finance-minister-says-2024-12-25/))
Serves him right. He gives me a headache too.
