A big issue that’s tough to solve. The solution needs to be a mix of state intervention and personal responsibility.
The State needs to step up for the coherent described in the article and people need to take more responsibility for funding their own pension. I’m lucky that my father strongly suggested I start pension ASAP even if contributing small amounts, which then becomes a habit.

The real crisis will hit in about 20-30 years time where you have life renters having to pay the future equivalent of rent out of their pension.
We’re going to have a generation of homeless OAPs.
