Il presidente ceco autorizza 40 cittadini a combattere nelle forze armate ucraine nel 2024, tra cui tre donne

President of Czechia Petr Pavel has approved 40 applications to participate in combat operations in Ukraine in 2024, twice as many as the previous year.

In total, 109 Czech citizens requested authorisation to fight on Ukraine’s side in 2024, with the president granting every third application.

Why do they need permission? If somebody wishes to serve Ukraine then they would sign up as any Ukrainian might and just do what they see as their duty surely?
