As much as I love and hate Dublin, can’t help but feel disappointed that we’re not really #1 at anything, even when we feel it in our bones.
Government will see 4th and strive for 1st.
Yeah but consider the bang you get for your buck, lovely weather, great public transport, cheap eats and an overall “safe” feeling on the streets!
Interesting, I’m pretty sure Lidl is the same price all over Ireland so how do groceries cost more in cork than Dublin? Are most chains pretty much the same price all over or even in the 2 capitals closely linked?

All while having less to see and do and worse public transport than many other cities a fraction of its size.
Dublin may be incredibly expensive but at least it’s clean, safe, has great weather and lots of fun amenities outside of drink and drugs. Oh no… wait…
At least I know that if I work hard and deny myself any luxuries for years and years, I’ll be able to get out of renting and afford a home of my own…oh wait
Wouldn’t put too much faith in this, data is from Numbeo which is crowdsourced self-assessed data and not as comprehensive as actual markey survey / analysis.
The minimum wage in Switzerland is about €25 an hour. Comical that Ireland is even in the same conversation as them.
This should probably be adjusted for salaries to be a fair comparison. Rents are higher in Switzerland but I suspect average salaries are probably higher as well.
