As a Dane this is my view on the situation: This is our own fault. Europe is a vassal of the USA because the war of Ukraine. Europe is dependent on the US in tech, military, energy and so much more. I think it’s embarrassing that people are surprised. Our economies have completely stalled and our demographics are terrible. Our gamble with green energy has failed. It was only a matter of time. It will only get worse if we do not change the pace and understand that Europe must be master of its own house!

Would the US military actually follow such an order? An invasion and annexation of Greenland would be an obviously illegal war of aggression against a peaceful, even friendly/allied neighbour.
If the German chancellor would order an attack on one or more of our neighbours with the goal to conquer them, they would be laughed out of the room by the generals. German soldiers aren’t allowed to follow such obviously illegal orders. (That’s a lesson from dealing with war criminals of WW2, that tried to escape punishment because they “only followed orders”.)
Is the US Military really prepared to attack a free and democratic country just because their carrot say so?
