      I mean, he’s not wrong, but maybe not the wisest thing to say about the leader of a large, powerful ally…

      This is fair enough really. Obviously he thinks it but politically he’s not allowed to express outright negativity about Trump’s character, so he has to roll it back now and try to pass it off as a gentle colloquialism, for fear some outlet in the US would pick up the real, harsher meaning that he’s a horror show of a person.
