Belgium is such a failed state. It’s incredible that the Belgian population is letting all of this happen.

Well that’s a shame because it needs to be remembered. But perhaps not with such exclusivity and separation to other atrocities. The school could have chosen a more positive way through this problem.

Don’t make sense to blame and punish jews in Europa over something Israel are doing.
Look up the number of hate crimes against the jews in your country, it’s honestly a sad thing to see. Can’t punish our civilians for a war we/they are not a part of.

Bet they would like to take part in the Holocaust though. 😀

Not surprising that Belgium doesn’t want to remember State-sponsored (actual) genocide. Pot kettle black

Attempting to make it compulsory to commemorate something that happened over 80 years ago that you had nothing to do with, while not allowing people to talk about ongoing crimes against humanity. Special exceptions made to shelter a man accused of genocide as he visits a genocide memorial.
The holocaust has been weaponised and until that is rectified its remembrance means nothing. So why bother attending.

So the people who were going to conduct the ceremony give this as an example of antisemitism:
>Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.
So apparently you aren’t allowed to call out a crime if a Jew committed it because that would make you antisemitic? No sorry, I’m not having that. This organisation is just a propaganda outfit in disguise and I for one applaud the schools for refusing to let their students be indoctrinated.

What did the children have to do with the Holocaust?
If some group “remembering” the Irish famine were denied an audience would that be considered anti Irish?

What a shame those 2 schools are.
The refusal came in particular from some parents in the schools. One of the schools involved recently removed an Israeli flag that was part of a ‘flags of the world’ event according to reports that sought to explain the decision, at the behest of a parent who had complained about the flag in the school playground.
Nothing to see here

This is so wrong. Both genocides can’t be ignored. Both should be remembered and taught to the next generation. A school can’t just refuse to remember the atrocities of the holocaust. In fact, it is as much of a great opportunity to teach the kids to remember as it is about showing them that the same things are happening again. A good teacher would use this opportunity to explain both events.
