Pretty non existent. Usually Serbia is mostly in the news(as far as I notice, in Germany) if someone needs an example of Russian friendly country.

I suppose I should have clarified… On the picture is the recent protest in the capitol organized by students. The national archive for public gatherings counted 100k-102k people. They held 15 minutes of silence for 15 casualties of the collapse on the main railway station in Novi Sad.

It gets brought up every so often in Croatian press, but we’re right next door, so no surprise there. Though more recently due to schizo statements by the Serbian president on how Croatian secret service is sending Croatian students to Serbia to stir up unrest, and then doxing said students on national TV.

Is this the silent one? I think I looked up what it was about, but I can’t remember. And we are neighbors. Sorry!

Looked it up, seems pretty domestic in matter.

Non-existent. They do not want you to know you to do the same 🙂

I think i read about it once somewhere in slovak newspaper, but dont really know whats going on. Can you educate us please?

It used to be one of the main stories in Croatia, but it toned down a bit. It’s still written about each day, just not as a main story.

Living in Ireland this is the first I’ve heard about them.

Unfortunately I think it’s not covered at all since the EU likes the current dictator in Serbia because he is compliant with the Kosovo negotiations and with Lithium mining for Germany. If the EU wanted this to be covered in all the TV stations in the EU states, it would be. Sadly, it isn’t.

    10. It’s been going on for a few weeks now, right? Danish public television didn’t mentioned it in their main news. It’s all about the orange twat and Greenland.

As a romanian who just went to Вршац this week for a nice meal at Етно Кућа Динар, the only place I can follow this is Reddit, and that is because I stumbled upon the news of the station collapse and then I actively searched for follow-up news and information.

Pretty much non-existant. I hope you’re successful in deposing Vucic though. All the best.

Too many are too afraid of what can happen if this kind of protesting happens in more places so little to no coverage 🙁

Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about Serbia in the Dutch press at least not that I can remember 💀

    15. justformedellin on

Minimal, although I think RTE News (Ireland State TV) have covered it at least once.

What’s the story, a building collapsed and now students are protesting against the government?

    16. BJonker1 on

These are the protests that started because of the collapse of a trainstation right? In that case it’s been in the news in the Netherlands a few weeks ago, but haven’t read anything since.

    17. First time I heard about it, haven’t seen news about it in Spain, but maybe I just missed them.

    18. SlyRax_1066 on

Nothing that happens in Serbia gets coverage. There’s a general view that Serbia is just Russia and we get plenty of coverage of Russia killing its own people and putting out mysterious debris related fires.

    19. First time hearing about it, but i don’t watch tv so that may be the reason

I’m pretty sure there was a brief segment about it on the French speaking nation Swiss news on tv but it was just mentionned.

    21. traecoto on

Am Bulgarian and the coverage has been incredibly sparce here I had to go out of my way to find out more information about them.

    22. I heard something on tv when this started, but after a couple of days it is not interesting anymore for media, it is how it works, and for all the (non-USA) countries that had similar situations in general.

    23. There’s been coverage of it (and of its cause, the station roof collapse) here in the Netherlands. Nothing major though. Most of the coverage was back in December.
