I was surprised when I found out that it has a population of only ~56,000. That’s not much more than Liechtenstein (~39,000) has.

I knew it was sparsely popularity, but not that sparse.

Are there any information on this poll? What is the methodology? What was the exact question asked? How many were polled?

I’m getting curious, are there any related polling figures from the state of Canada?

Holy shit, imagine if they joined EU and then EU trades it to US for TX, AR, MO, OK can go fuck itself, EU would have a foothold in continental US that would be huge opportunity for mutual growth and

After America’s invasion threat, watch that number jump way up.

They have 41 thousand rdgistred voters so Trump has to get let’s say 25 thousand. If no one from them would decided to be 51 us states he ne how much 500.000$x25.000 that’s 12,5 billion, four time less than they pay for houses that burned in LA.
Just saying, today you can buy anything. Same was with Alaska long time ago. If it’s almost for free it’s for me.

    8. Zookeeeyeper on

If it will be decided mainly by vote, EU has no chance, Trump will buy them out easily.

Have they forgotten what Denmark did to them ? Amongst many attrocities – one was to force sterilize inuit women without consent.

Yes please go ahead and downvote me, I know Europe doesnt want to acknowledge the sins your ancestors have committed on rest of the world.

    10. Wait till they get some idiotic eco-nazi “Snow conservation programme” where they’ll be paying for molten ice or buy “Snow limits” just to live like before joining it. But at least they’ll be given the chance to buy new wind turbines and solar panels, straight off some GmbH, *just like Germany intended to save its falling eco..* i mean climate!

That number will change after Trump offers all of them millions of dollars each to vote to join America.

Has anyone explained to them that their connection to Denmark is the one thin thread connecting them to Europe that would make them eligible for membership?

    13. sabelsvans on

Of course, they want to join the EU. They really, really need the funds in order to keep afloat if they were to get independency from Denmark. If the EU rejects them, they’ve got no choice but to propose to the US.

    14. What’s the logic for Greenlanders in leaving Denmark and then joining the EU? Aren’t they pretty much independent already anyway? Maintaining some institutions and defense with population of small town is going to be pretty impossible for them.

The 51st US state wanting to join the EU.
      That’s cute

This is just an opening position, to get the USA to make a sweeter offer.

Greenland is very popular these days. Everyone wants them in their team.

    18. No_Priors on

They’re already EU citizens, hopefully that would make it easier.
