      i thought the engineers caught it prior? they left out that it was bought knowing it was uninsurable. they’re getting a lot of good press

      lol if it happened to you or me we would be told where to go, but someone connected to a high profile politician who’s able to use their connections to generate a blitz of media attention? Ah yeah sure.

      If this had been a simple case of flooding, I’d have said let them at it. But if the whole river wall collapses, I don’t really have an issue with the repairs coming from the public purse. State owns the rivers. State should be maintaining them. Planning permission should never have been given for that dwelling in the first place. That’s also on the state.

      Is the taxpayer is paying for this it’s just disgraceful behaviour. Cronyism is alive and well!

      *Two engineers had surveyed the home before the couple bought it, but signs of subsidence were not caught.*

      Absolutely shit that the engineers pre-purchase didn’t catch it, but they were warned of this back in 2021? And bought a house they couldn’t get flood insurance for? Looking at the PPR, it was very cheap.

      I can’t fathom how they got a mortgage when subsidence was flagged?
