Fico will be able to test the stability of his government as early as January 21.
An extraordinary session of the Parliament of the Slovak Republic regarding the opposition vote of no confidence in the government will begin on Tuesday (January 21) at 9:00 a.m.
At the moment, the coalition has 71 votes, with a need for 76. In order to declare a vote of no confidence, the opposition parties will need to win over 5 deputies from the Holos and Slovak People’s Party factions. Fico currently has difficult relations with both factions, so the possibility of his resignation is likely and welcomed across Europe.
Isn’t this the super unpopular guy who got into a fight with Smer politicians after renting a car with loudspeakers and disrupting their rally before elections?
