    1. Our own trust in our own elected officials is falling, espeically over the critical question of aid to Ukraine.

I also wouldn’t trust a country that elects a convicted rapist, traitor, and Putin lover because they think that will somehow fix the price of eggs

    3. Trump will sell Ukraine to Russia in less than a week. He cannot be trusted, he should never be trusted. He is a liar. He is a con-man. He is a fraud. He will say whatever you want to hear, and then stab you in the back the second you turn around.

Im sorry Ukraine. Trump is not your friend, he is a Russian Asset owned by oligarchs.

*No ѕhіt* that Ukrainians are losing trust in the West / First World.

Yet it’s another example of how Ukrainians are ***not*** Russians. Ukrainians won’t gaslight themselves about reality unlike that mob of сuсk-crabs in the world’s biggest bucket.

      · They’re the ones bearing the first-order consequences of “For As Long As It Takes™”.

      · They’re the ones getting the Open Door™ to NATO continuously slammed in their faces. (since 2007!)

      · They’re the ones who’ve rationed their munitions because of the inexcusable slow-drip and nerfing of military aid.

      · They’re the ones who’ve rationed their air defense munitions as the Russians overwhelm the skies with drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles with impunity thanks to open Western cowardice about EsCaLaTiOn.

      · They’re the ones who’ve seen how the Swiss have consistently used their self-righteous “neutrality” to block the transfer of AA ammunition for the Gepard, and later on, hand-me-down Leopard tanks in other countries.

      · They’re the ones who have to fight to retrieve their kidnapped children from the Russians through mediators in **the Middle East** (i.e. *not* the West)

      · They’re the ones who watched impotently for lack of *permission* of the West to do long-range strikes on Russian forces massing openly and with impunity in Russia along the border for the second (unsuccessful) assault on Kharkiv in 2024.

      · They’re the ones routinely uncovering Western components and electronics in the wreckage of Iranian and Russian drones all over Ukraine.

      · They’re the ones fighting trench warfare against regular forces from a country on the other side of the world in addition to the actual invaders who want to complete *their* genocidal project [after over 300 years of trying](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russification_of_Ukraine).

      · They’re the ones who’ve been getting bipartisan US pressure to decrease the mobilization age despite the chronic shortage of military gear beyond small arms.

      · They’re the ones who saw how Віdеn and co. embraced the Belarusian figurehead Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and that Russian she-snake Yulia Navalnaya as they tried to put those women on the same plane as Olena Zelenska.

      · They’re the ones seeing how the citizens in their biggest military backer *willingly* voted for at least another 4 years of a pro-Russian traitor on the throne with like-minded grifters (see Тulѕі “Turncoat” Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence).

Ukrainians gaslit themselves enough before 2022 by trusting in the Budapest Memorandum and the Russians’ “rationality” (ha!) in *not* letting their centuries-old chauvinism overrule banal economic concerns measurable in dollars / euros / rubles / hryvnias.

How could *anyone*, let alone the Ukrainians, trust these kinds of “allies” that much? Ukrainians don’t need at all to be egged on by Russian troll-farms to come to such unflattering conclusions.

In the end, *trust is to be earned.*

Enough Westerners have done enough to debase the Ukrainians’ trust without a hint of Russian provocation by constantly *refusing* to heed the Ukrainians and their documented suffering in real-time, and instead tying themselves in knots about the *potential* fate of the “poor”, “oppressed”, and “misunderstood” Ordinary Russian Citizens™.

I expect it will decline, and I understand why. Given Trump‘s unpredictability, we will have to judge him not by his words, but by his actions beginning in a few weeks. It is my hope that he will quickly understand it is in America’s best interests to see Putin defeated in Ukraine.

To be fair I think trust in the west is declining in the west as well, and I don’t foresee that changing.
