Considering how severely outnumbered they are by the Russians and by how questionable the likelihood of actual NATO support would be in the event of invasion, such spending levels make perfect sense.

Let´s hope this doesn´t become a crazy race between NATO members to outdo eachother.

Increased spending is necessary, especially for the members which lag but more efficiency is also needed. I rarely see politicians talking about tighter integration between the various militaries nor a push for more standardisation.

Holy moly. I hope Norway does the same, and ramp up our military industry and introduce mandatory 2-3 years military training for both men and women. It does not help to only pore money on it, we have to restructure our entire military.

Good but we need to invest into domestic (EU) tech as much as we can. Buying US equipment is not a good idea. Especially given how increasingly unstable the US government is and there’s no telling what kind of backdoors there are in their cutting edge tech filled with computers.

Sucks for Lithuania that they have such an aggressive neighbor that they have to spend so much money on the military.
