The collapse of the Novi Sad railway station canopy is not just a Serbian tragedy; it is a European scandal. This station, a centerpiece of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed rail project, was meant to symbolize progress and regional connectivity. Instead, it highlights the dangers of allowing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) entities, like China Railway International Corporation (CRIC), to play a pivotal role in Europe’s critical infrastructure.
CRIC, alongside China Communications Construction Company (CCCC)—both CCP-controlled—was instrumental in this project. Yet when the canopy collapsed, claiming lives, these companies refused to cooperate with Serbian authorities investigating the structural failures. This lack of accountability is emblematic of Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), where flashy promises often mask substandard execution and negligence.
This is not an isolated failure. The Novi Sad disaster underscores a troubling pattern seen globally in CCP-backed projects: corner-cutting, poor construction, and disregard for human safety. Europe must view this as a wake-up call. Our infrastructure and safety cannot be compromised by partnerships with a regime that values profit and geopolitical influence over accountability and human lives.
To protect our sovereignty and uphold European values, we must hold the CCP and its proxies like CRIC accountable. This tragedy is a stark reminder of the cost of compromising standards in exchange for short-term gains. Europe must demand better and reject the dangerous influence of the CCP in our critical infrastructure.

With all the sh*t going on in rest of the world rn, it is a real shame they shadow things happening last 2-3 months in Serbia… These show some different, positive and awakening Serbia and, hopefully, this youth that now protesting will stay in country and grow, to rebuild some better Serbia.
