What part of Greenland does not want this and Denmark can not sell does the knuckle heads across the pond not understand?

    2. 1 Denmark doesn’t “own” Greenland. They’re more like in a union

2 Either way, Denmark has made it clear that the answer would be no

3 I hate this timeline. This is the stupid timeline. Like is this real life?

4 Greenland wants to join the EU

How about we just sell him the Norwegian Bouvet island instead, we’ll take 51% of Tesla and SpaceX as payment.

Seek to enter into negotiations? So Denmark can simply say no?

I wonder how Americans and the Republican Party would react if Hawaii or California decided they wanted to be independent. I guarantee they would be against it, so why are they so pro invading another country…

Ya’ll should see some of the bills republicans are introducing at the state level. All trying to one up each while they take turns diddling the orange man’s butt hole.

Why leave it not up to the individual state (Greenland) to decide if it wants to join the USA? Just let the federal government out of it.

Why is this getting posted here? America is not a European country, it’s inner working is not always relevant to /r/Europe. It also belies a big misunderstanding of how the US government works. The American president already has the power under the US Constitution to negotiate with a foreign government on the behalf of the United States, they don’t need the authorization of Congress. This is a nothingburger.

So Trump actually thinks that he can literally buy anything, including countries. Huh. Oh man, the next 4 years are gonna be such a shitshow…

People struggling to live, nah we need to put a bill through to talk to another country.

How is this even a bill, why would you even need one to just talk to them?

Maga are a stain on society, they will make us go extinct.

Quite sure OP is a bot

One of “ours”, but quite still a bot sadly

This is so f*cking stupid. Just leave Denmark and Greenland alone. Nobody is going to negotiate to make Greenland a US territory. All that’ll happen is Trump will be told no, he’ll scream and make threats, maybe impose tariffs, and isolate and embarrass us even more. Just stop.

The Danes just need to threaten to withhold Ozempic supplies. They’ll win instantly.

What? This is what taxes are spent on IN America? by the Republicans?

    17. Any-Original-6113 on

It seems to me that this was done to pressure Denmark to speed up the referendum on independence in Greenland.
After Greenland becomes an independent state, it can become like Puerto Rico.

This has literally zero chance of passing the house. Republicans have a majority of two and they’ve just really annoyed one of their Reps.
