      I dont really see why. Unless X and Meta follow. We have Elon Musk openly interfering with EU elections. But it is Tiktok that we should worry about?

      Like we got Elon Musk openly supporting the AfD and Reform. Spreading misinformation on X and the like.

      But it is only Tiktok that needs to go?

      I dont get this. Just because the US is our ally doesnt mean they have our best interest in mind. Especially not the tech oligarchs who are fed up with EU regulations.

      I’d go as far as to say that Tiktok is the least problematic of the three currently for the EU.

      I dont use or care about tiktok. All social media apps should be ban. They all collect your data

      Lots of commenters here saying ban all social media. Why do you need to wait for a ban? Why don’t you voluntarily just stop using social media?

      Because you can’t. Because you’re addicted. Because deep down you like it and phrases like ” ban them all” is just karma hunting.

      Even tho I am in Europe, I was unable to access TikTok because I am using american starlink internet.

      I understand TikTok is silly and most people find it funny that it got banned. Or not banned. Changes by the minute, apparently.

      But if you think one tiny bit further, it should be obvious to really EVERYONE that governments deciding what apps we are “allowed” to use is a super slippery slope.

      How would you all feel if reddit got banned?

      How about your banking app? Government prefers you use the national bank – no competitor apps allowed.
