This GIF pretty much sums up my reaction every time I see the ad.
Is that AI for Artificial Intelligence or Artificial Insemination? Or is it a happy coincidence?
Personally if I were wanting IVF I would trust the expert over some meaningless open ended term that could mean absolutely anything or nothing.

Everyone is keen to stress nowadays that their products are “powered by AI”. That’s not a positive to everyone. Puts me off.

Genuinely you’d be surprised how far back this could be intelligible.
The term “Artificial Intelligence” was first coined around the 1960s and 1970s.
Test-tube babies and IVF coincidentally reached it’s first successes in the early 1970s (there’s a good movie on Netflix about it)
Cryopreservation was a little further behind, late 70s-mid 80s.
Someone with a good general knowledge of science and cutting-edge research could conceivably understand this ad from around the mid 1970s. Though they would probably assume it was far more futuristic than it is.
Your average schlub would probably understand it from around the mid 1980s. Though again in their minds it would be more like a friendly version of the Matrix – e.g. robots in a big lab freezing and handling human eggs.
Artificial Intelligence or Artificial Insemination
Are they using Michael Van Gerwen’s sperm?
Nope. I would prefer human being with a degree, experience and expertise and most importantly an empathy to handle my fertility treatment.
If it’s Artificial Intelligence as opposed to Artificial Insemination then I’d be asking them if they could use the AI better so my baby didn’t need corrective lenses for his eyesight at such a young age.

I honestly don’t know why companies are leading with AI as a thing. It is still very crude and for absolute precision tasks and problem solving it is nowhere near.
The thing is with AI is it uses knowledge that is established, it scours the internet for information to use and makes a composite guess based on the questions asked. That’s why every iteration it gets better and better because it learns from the questions and what people find satisfactory as an answer to a given query. As IBM puts it:
“A **large language model** (LLM) is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that excels at processing, understanding, and generating human language. LLMs are useful for analyzing, summarizing, and creating content across many industries.”
But that’s where its brilliance ends, for now. Because the crux of the “intelligent” part is that it can’t formulate solutions by itself, it can’t think laterally or make individual judgements borne of its own processes (thinking for us humans).
So whenever you see AI powered take it with a load of shite.
