Not exactly sure I agree with ideology of the writers but the proposal of evidence and research based policy is one I can 100% get behind.

      She won’t really though.

The civil servants manage it as always. And there is very little room for manoeuvre

Can we not agree she is useless , I know teachers who would launch her into the sea with a big boulder if they could get away with it.

During the celtic tiger, prior to the reforms of the Troika, you could walk out of school and onto the dole basically permanently if you wanted, despite full employment. The measures the Troika imposed on us, like Jobbridge, seemed hard particularly while there weren’t that many jobs around. But particularly now, when we have effectively full employment, people who are on the dole long term should be engaging with the vast array of educational and other supports to get them into work. If they don’t, they ought to be sanctioned in some way.

I was in an Intreo office recently to get my PSC, and the amount of security they had and aggro from some of their more long term clients really made me feel for the people trying to get a days work done in the place.
