Definitely not normal. You might wanna call someone

    3. NixNixonNix on

This shit isn’t normal, but it also absofuckinglutely doesn’t fit this sub.

    4. sakasiru on

It’s not normal in the sense that it’s common, but yes, bugs live in plants in Germany and might land in your food. Go wherever you bought this and get a refund. Or contact the company directly and probably get a dozen cans for free.

    5. Far_Technology9264 on

Mmmmm, yummy yummy, get some protein in their too, and free of charge.

But seriously, it happens when you buy canned vegetables and stuff, bugs like plants and so they sometimes end up with the plants when canned. Should it happen, no, but it does.

    6. We call it “gratis Fleischbeilage”. 😉 Don’t worry! Science says bugs are save to eat and healthy.

    7. Intelligent-Jury7562 on

Wait until OP notices that people eat accidentally one pound of bugs each year.

I do see your point it’s disgusting but it’s not uncommon to find bugs in vegetables.

    8. rdrunner_74 on

Why should this NOT be normal?

The bug has the “right size” and is not metal.

How would you filter ALL bugs from 320.000.000 kg (2022 German Production) of peas?

    9. You think peas are grown in a lab? It’s a product from nature, so yeah there can be some leftover nature. Even though it’s pretty rare. This one might have just the right size and shape to fool the machines.

    10. Weak-Skill1584 on

You were midway through? Please tell me you didn‘t eat that straight from the can.

    11. MeltsYourMinds on

Report this to the store. They will give you a voucher and report it to the manufacturer

    12. Maybe it went in there after you opened it? Wouldn’t the bug look different if it had been in there for a longer time?

    13. casastorta on

Guy wants to eat healthy, but doesn’t want food which attracts insects 🤣

I mean, it’s objectively gross. But it’s objectively expected now and then.

    14. Hey, I spotted some peas on your bug! Absolutely disgusting indeed!

    15. Genostama on

That’s fucked up. Should not happen. Also, WHO THE FUCK EATS PEAS STRAIGHT FROM THE CAN???

    16. leandroabaurre on

Call the customer service number in the packaging and report this. This is NOT normal. NOT acceptable. It’s a serious breach of Food Safety and HACCP.
If you don’t call them, they won’t know about it and can’t make corrections.

    17. skoopaloopa on

Can happen in any country. If it makes you feel any better, canning is a sanitary process so the bug got boiled 😂

    18. Unflattering_Image on

“Additional Protein.”, is how the mother would word it. You’ll be fine.

    19. Looks like somebody’s getting a whole Europalette of peas 😅

    20. pizzatimein24h on

You got more proteins than you payed for!?! You should be grateful!

    21. PowerUser77 on

Is that a roach? If so, report to store and manufacturer, even if it is just regular bug you should

    22. EternalChimaera on

Go to the store where you bought this and refund. Maybe they’ll send feedback to production.

    23. Good_Question_Asker on

All food agencies allow for a certain number of bugs (per kilo) in our food. It’s natural that some of them get through while processing.

    24. yes, its normal. insects and plants. throw it away, wash the peas and continue eating. you won’t die for sure.

    25. Alottacounts321 on

yeah its normal here, one probably got in your batch from the other conveyor belt producing peas with carrots and stink bugs

    26. It can happen at times. Peas come from nature. It is completely normal for insects to be introduced

    27. CandidateConfident88 on

Fuck the Bug you eat the Peas cold?? From the can?? WTF 😭 that’s lowkey disgusting who would eat peas like that

    28. wandpapierkritiker on

you purchased the extra fine, which does include small insects for extra flavor. next time, select just the fine version for a bug-free experience.

    29. FigOne8141 on

I worked in a food processing industry, the things that pass controll, oh my, I wouldn’t buy, fresh or nothing.
