I fucking knew he’d come for us eventually and try to drive a wedge between us and Europe! Expect his social media mates to push anti-EU sentiment here over the next 4 years as he puts pressure on the American corporations here to reshore operations and tax as he tries to bring us closer to Boston than Berlin.

      >President Donald Trump has told delegates in Davos that he got an investment project approved in Ireland within one week, but then faced a five-to-six year wait for EU approval.

Ironically, this means that the EU protected us from shortsighted, get-rich-quick FFG corruption yet again, which is actually a point for the EU instead of against it.

    3. Tough shit Donald, you’ll be gone in 4 years, the EU won’t. Easy choice

    4. Wants us outside so we’d be easier to take advantage of! They’ve already done it with the UK and supporting Brexit.

How long before he makes a Greenland statement about us

‘Speaking to the World Economic Forum (WEF) by video link, Trump did not identify the “big project” but said Irish authorities had given approval efficiently.’

So this is the classic Trump “my girlfriend’s really hot, but I can’t tell you her name and she goes to a different school” maneuver then.

This is almost certainly a complete lie, as with most of what he says.

I suspect that the single biggest ‘fight’ of this presidency will be US v EU.

That’s it, no Waterford crystal bowl of shamrock for you Donald! Hit him where it hurts

Jesus wept thank God let’s keep him out!

Real conspiracy stuff now I know but wouldn’t be surprised if targeting us would be on his agenda to destabilize the EU a little bit, step 1 of 20 ways to remove their biggest competitive trading bloc seeing as he wants to make enemies all around US people are going to be distracted with a lot of BS while he builds enough wealth to last his family for centuries

It’s a one sided fondness you orange painted ballsack!

The Zionists (AIPAC) are working through him to fck with Ireland and especially our weak politicians.

We stood up and said a genocide is wrong. They want us to recant.

FF/FG are already trying to water down the Occupied Territories Bill.

Meanwhile American red tape increasingly comes with a white circle with a strange black cross pattern.

Him and muskrat have their work cut out if they think they can make Irish people anti-EU that easy…

    15. But the EU does not have an administration. The EU never processes applications. It produces regulations member states have to implement. The whole rant doesn’t make any sense.

With all due respect to Mr. Trump as the president of the United States and a golf club in Doonbeg, I dislike his juvenille atrempt at bullying and even if he can econmically fuck us up I’m sure some Irish or Scotrish Patriots might be inspired by Jan 6th and retaliate to make Ireland and Scotland great again.

    17. Cultural_Pangolin788 on

Tony Connelly on the news said it had nothing to do with the EU. The delay was with some tidal wall he wanted.

I fucking love the EU.  It is the most  amazing political structure of the 20th century.

This jackass should be ignored – politely ignored, we do need to keep the Americans sweet and we do love the Americans in general.

    19. “Red Tape” in this instance being “basic human rights and accountability.”

    20. jocmaester on

Not a big fan of Trump good campaigner poor adminstrator imo, but we should have a friendly stance towards him and the states as our economy is so dependant on US companies but we’ll also have to keep close to the EU. It will be interesting how the government will handle the tug of war between them.

i can pretty easily bypass it but id say theres a load that dont know how, i think we should add any news sites that require a subscription to the banned link list imo.

    22. Admittedly, this all has me very worried. We are about to see insane levels of job losses

This is one of the fronts where their disinformation pipelines will drive a wedge and try to rip the social fabric further. Don’t be fooled.

    24. Fun-Associate3963 on

Sounds like we in a great position, fuck all Nazis

    25. Objective-Age-5670 on

This is always the plan. Get the dregs of society into his cult and think we need to leave the EU like the UK.

Why else have MAGA bots been targeting Irish social media users and radicalising them into issues nobody even cared about 10 years ago. Immigrantion was never an issue in Ireland but after one Trump term, Coolock Says No and the Dublin Riots.

The government need to start regulating social media. It’s very dangerous the lack of critical thinking skills people have

Let me make it simple: Right wing man don’t like left wing man.

I hate we have to deal with this gobshites nonsense over here just because Americans are morons and/or fascists apparently.
