bc it’s cheap and its construction does not take much time?

Cheap, allows for visibility, keeps animals out/in and is a bit more unobtrusive than non-green coloured ones.

That being said, I hate it with a passion.

Functional, efficient, inexpensive, easy to install and maintain 😁

I don’t have any fence. Nor does my neighbor and their neighbors, too.

My friends in another town have a chain link fence and their neighbors have a trellis-work fence.

I cannot remember when I have seen this type of fence.

Cheap, effective, doesn’t steal too much visibility.

It is very durable, you can instal it yourself (did it myself and i have two left hands), not much tools are needed.

Aside from all the other things mentioned: It’s hard to climb with shoes.

Better than the stones- in a-cage situation that you see often…

I love it since kindergarten days, deutsches Kulturgut 🙂

By the way, they are called “Doppelstabmattenzaun”, which means ‘double rod mat fence’.

Doesn’t need maintainance (like wooden fences), is flexible, easily constructed, cheap and you can even upgrade it with „Sichtschutz“ so nobody can see you 🙂 I wonder why it’s not common in other countries

Additional to all thr other comments – it doesn’t change a lot over time. Wooden fences become ugly very quickly with weather. These ones just stay the same level of semi-ugly.

Relatively inexpensive, you can assemble it yourself, easy to dismantle again, easy to clean, robust, timeless…in short: practical

Cheap, effective, low-maintenance, all of which makes it a popular choice for new builds and when people need to replace a fence.

For maximum Germanness, it should have plastic strips printed with an ivy or brick pattern woven through it.

It’s functional and most importantly relatively cheap. I find these things ugly as sin and wouldn’t want one. But I will have to redo our fencing in the coming years and if I google what it will cost I’m beginning to understand…

keeping unwanted humans behind iron bars is kind of german culture

We have these around uk schools, the old chain link fences were so easy to climb, these not so much, unless you have birds feet or something, they are also quite tough even though they don’t look it

    18. I think it’s the spiritual successor of Maschendrahtzaun, which plays an important role in german neighborhood disputes, which are an essential part of german tradition and history. Attn: Don’t look it up on youtube, risk of brain damage.
