Looks like some people are going to be without power for nearly 2 weeks! I’d be renting a generator.

Says 5th February for me…hoping to get a generator somewhere tomorrow.

My power went out yesterday when my phone battery was about to die and honestly it was the most peaceful couple hours I’ve had in years. I think there are lessons I should take from that

Parents are going to be another week. No water either as they have their own well.
At least can light fires in two rooms downstairs and electricity in town so can go to the hotel for food.
If that’s the case then it makes sense, can’t just give the transformers a wash and have everyone back online by lunchtime.

Not too bad off here.
Were without power from Thurs night to yesterday evening.
Open fire and gas hob meant we could keep warm and cook.
On a reduced supply since yesterday evening, so heavy items won’t work, oven, electric shower, microwave, but oil burner able to run so at least heat back in the whole house.
Edit: just back from the shop, seen three transport trucks carrying loads of esb poles, i imagine there’s A LOT of new poles needed.

The climate change denying rural independents and their voters might begin to wake up to what climate change can do considering its their areas hit

If its to be believed, its the salt and dirt picked up and blown about by the storm causing the issues, I’m the south east anyway.
