Cosa ne pensi di questo itinerario per una gita di dieci giorni per una famiglia di tre (bambino ha 3 anni)? È troppo/troppo piccolo? Alla ricerca anche di cose da fare in ciascuno!
Abbiamo una famiglia a Stara Zagora e Burgas. Mio marito parla bulgaro. Ci piacerebbe anche visitare Rila se il tempo lo permette.

Looks good to me. I’d start from the other side tho – Veliko Tarnovo first as the roads in Northern Bulgaria suck and would be a pain in the a*s to return home from there. So start from Sofia to Tarnovo and Burgas, then come back through Plovdiv.
Out of all the cities u listed, Sofia is by far the most run-down.
Stara Zagora has nice straight big streets in very good condition. Very clean city. Veliko Tarnovo has its own unique vibe and a lot of new development. Burgas is also a nice and very livable city.
It has always amazed me how Sofia suck so hard even tho its the capital city
There is a a proverb in bulgarian thst says: Bulgaria starts from Danube river. Ruse is the city of the first things in Bulgaria. It is really beautiful and has great architecture. Its worth visiting it. Also its easy to go to the other side of the river now, because of Shengen. Bucharest is 60 km away from Ruse.
