Finished off in glory, with that European gold last year. Remember getting up/staying up at Stupid O’clock to see him in the Olympic final in Rio, so close! The winning time was a world record, his 4th place time would have won a medal in any previous Olympic final I think.
Brilliant athlete and career
An incredible servant to the green jersey – may his future endeavours bring him just as much success and satisfaction. It feels like I’ve been watching his races for ages, so it’s a bit surprising to learn he’s only 32!
What a fabulous year for him in his career to finish up on! Genuinely looking forward to seeing what he does in future & during his Virgin Media stint.
