Countdown to the *You can’t come back without my petty revenge fantasy* crowd appearing in 3, 2…

And there it is, they’ve arrived.

    2. Said this before but for what it’s worth I’d totally be on board with the UK rejoining at any time. No need for punishments or whatnot either – just some sort of commitment that they’re gonna stick around this time.

This is not the time to be holding grudges on friends.

This is not too surprising. Just under 600k people a year die in the UK, meaning since the Brexit vote almost 5 million people have died and the majority of them died of old age. Which is pertinent considering the elderly formed the core of the pro-Brexit vote.

These anti-EU old people are being replaced with younger people who are pro-EU. You are going to see the numbers improve over the coming decade and in time there will be a push to re-join by a more receptive population.

I’m honestly okay with that, there’s a stain on the Conservatives right now with Reform’s existence. Mr Starmer just needs to make people respect Labour more so they stay far away from either Conservative party.

I don’t like this kind of graphic that pits the UK flag (i.e. identity) in opposition to the European one. It’s not either/or, and never has been. 🇬🇧🇪🇺

This is irrelevant though as it’s a question of hindsight.

Unless the question is rejoin or retain – with concessions listed i.e. moving to the Euro – there is no point paying attention to these stories.

    7. Just let them come back already.

We’ll have the yellow press come up with some post factual nonsense to calm down the boomers and we’re set

I’d be on board with Britain rejoining the EU, as a full member like any other.

Hopefully something could finally be done about Hungary beforehand though, given their ever present opposition.

Prior to Brexit, most International Baccalaureate graduates from Poland I know chose to study in the UK. After Brexit, the majority opted for the Netherlands.

Because nothing in the country since Brexit got better. The pound lost 20% of its value, the infrastructure is much worse, living standards is down, NHS is in worse condition, immigration is much higher. Everyone knew this would happen, except the brexit voters. They ignored the warnings.

Another 10-15 years is needed for nature to run it’s course and thin the Leave voters ranks.

Does this kind of poll exists for all European citizens as well? Do current EU members believe that Brexit was good or bad for them?

I said it during Brexit, I’ll say it now – Brittain’s problems are domestic. Leaving the EU wasn’t going to solve them, going back into the EU isn’t going to solve them.

I’d agree and come back, only stipulate would be keep the GBP, the British won’t give that up. The rest I can get behind. Or a Norway deal.

It only took 9 years and an incompetent Labor government to crash the country so hard and somehow convince the Brits that Brexit was the reason.

      Lmao.

      Who you kidding?

Southern Europe is an absolute mess. These countries are getting poorer and Europe is becoming more divided over issues like migration. The EU is a mess and powers need to go back to sovereign states.

The EU should be nothing more than an economic Union.

I know reddit is pro EU mostly, so am I, but let’s not forget there are many Brits who resent EU. Also, UK has always had its own thing going on and the Channel really makes a difference. How I see the situation is that even some Britons who were anti EU now want to come back because of the ever worsening economic situation. The problem is, bad economy is not only due to them leaving the EU. Many Europeans want to leave the union as well. The far right is on the rise and maybe something peculiar is happening in the world. EU is a great idea that can function until threatened by some obscure interest groups. Look at what’s happening in the US as well. Imo China is the strongest player in the world today. But I might be wrong ofc.
