My family and I would sit round the wireless at Christmas and listen to DEI The Musical. It was a cornerstone of Irish life.

Ah yeah better off buying more helicopters that crash into civilian planes.

I fucking miss how relatively little attention the White House got the last few years.

First, obvious question is if anyone has a clue what musical this spokeswoman is even talking about?

And are the “DEI” in the room right now?

    4. IrelandsEoin on

Excellent journalism there from the Leader.

Repeat what the white house say. No need for any further detail. Outstanding.

there’ll be a tribunal about this yet, involving Zappone, Coveney and the Toy Show Musical, I guarantee it

    9. theseanbeag on

I presume this particular DEI is related to the two sides of the troubles. Only reason I could think if USA getting involved. Fair play to them if so.

      Google says

Seems the Irish musical which was funded by USAID in 2022 to tune of $70k was ‘Ireland 100, an old song resung’ a 2-hr RTE radio production made by an independent Cork production company South Wind Blows Limited, controlled by Philip King who also presents for RTE Radio

      [Grant is here](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/ASST_NON_SEI30022GR0010_1900)

      >To support the achievement of U.S. foreign policy goals and objectives, advance national interests, and enhance national security by informing and influencing foreign publics and by expanding and strengthening the relationship between the people and government of the United States and citizens of the rest of the world.

Make sense they’d cancel it since America is turning into a hate-filled abomination giddy at torching allied relationships.

Something has gone wrong at the factory where they make the replaceable Fox News blondes, this one seems to be malfunctioning.

“Pay attention to this $70k while we plunder the Treasury of billions of dollars and destroy a free nation.”

    17. ContiGhostwood on

From what I gather it’s not really a musical, it was a concert held in Aras between Irish and American acts, hosted by Other Voices. They just stressed the word “musical” for maximum rage bait.

    18. FluffyDiscipline on

Ah come on she’s got to name it, which panto is it… Diversity, Equality and Inclusion the musical

and I want a copy of the Peru comic book LOL

    19. futbolitoireland on

It was obviously the toy show the musical. The govt were asked for 3 tickets for attendees from the American embassy but unfortunately Paschal Donohue’s mate (and best man) who built the bike shelters got wind of it and one thing led to another and 70,000 was a fair market tender price for the tickets

So DEI is the new thing that these insufferable whingebags are crying about now?

    26. Dankswiggidyswag on

Jesus, they’re running out of DEI things to complain about in their own country, they’re complaining other countries aren’t being mean enough to minorities?

    27. pauldavis1234 on

Wasteful is a diplomatic way of putting it in fairness.

    28. missuslindy on

Wait until they find out my son & I are trying to raise funds for ‘An Inconvenient Truth: The Musical’. We are trying to make the subject a bit more accessible to the American public.

    29. CompetitiveBid6505 on

This is from the crowd that mistook condoms for Palestinians with a safe sex programme in Mozambique
      And refused to admit it

If the White House wants their money back, they can go get it off Rockall
