I think he’s literally aiming at making the Gaza strip US land. It’s clear he’s obsessed with territorial expansion, I don’t think he has some kind of grand plan for the territory itself.

This has nothing to do with Europe. The notion that the U.S. needs a base in Gaza to pressure the EU is absurd, they have way simpler options for that. Specifically, they also have literally nuclear weapons and a lot of bases in Europe So, what more could they possible need to threaten us militarily? Militarily, a base on Gaza would yield them no significant benefit, while destroying their relationship with their Arab allies. I suspect that Trump is just trying to pressure the Palestinians into a Deal with Israel that includes things they have previously refused to accept, i.e. giving up their “right to return”.
It would have far more to do with influence over the Middle East than Europe.

They may be interested if that land did not go back to the Israeli’s. He’s just throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks, and get folks to think outside the box. That’s always been his style.

Europe can’t do anything, even if it wanted. Its woke ideology and continuous Russian and Chinese appeasement transformed EU in a laughingstock, and I am saying this as an European. We either become a state, which would require strong, intelligent politicians (not the case), or we’ll disappear in history as a cute, but failed project of humanity. US and China are already wiping the floor with us.

If the US is making a base in gaza it’s probably because of the suez Chanel.
The US doesn’t even have enough money to support enough bases in the Asian theatre never mind the Middle East. They should be more worried about paying down their debt than printing more money.
