«We are open to the fact that mineral resources can be developed with our partners who help us defend our land and push the enemy back with their weapons, their presence, and sanctions packages. And this is absolutely fair. I spoke about this back in September when we had a meeting with President Trump,» Zelenskyy said at a press briefing on February 4.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine’s Victory Plan includes provisions for investment in the sector and that the country welcomes American businesses.
«I would like American business, I know they are genuinely very interested in entering Ukraine, to develop this sector here,» he said.
Zelenskyy also warned that if Russia gains control over these resources, other countries, such as Iran or North Korea, could gain access to them.
So, in just the last few days, master negotiator Donald Trump has been completely played by the presidents of three different countries.

I would honestly love it for Trump to go all in on Ukraine, only to find out later that the available resources are less than what’s mineable in the United States themselves.
American army would even be welcome in this case. I believe.

Having this deal with USA is putting NATO at Putin doorstep. It’s securing the lives of Ukrainian people.
At this moment that land is most likely lost for Chad Zelenskyy, so why no promise it for absolute protection?

I absolutely understand how Ukraine must do what it has to do to survive but I’m really ashamed that we Europeans did just let such an important country slip out of our influence zone and for what? Not to lend some weapons? Not to upset Russia?
