If 1/3 of first time buyers receive help from home owning parents, 2/3 don’t, it’s just more click bait
Most people don’t get help.
I don’t even have to click in and I agree with it all and could add possibly more.
I thought it was tough for my generation but my (toddler )kids will never own a home it seems.
The system is rigged.
Ireland is white and rich and extraordinarily privileged.
The system really IS rigged not as rigged in our favour as say, the Yanks or the Brits but still pretty fucking rigged.
The core takeaway of the Irish experience has never been our opposition to the systems of oppression and privilege it’s our opposition from EXCLUSION from the spoils of that system.
That’s why our Taoiseach will kiss Trump’s ass on St Patrick’s Day of all days, to utterly confirm our prostration and simpering desire not for a just world but for “just a nice piece of the world”.

So yeah the system is rigged. Your exclusion from owning a semi-d in endless suburbs is hardly the apotheosis of the world’s injustices..
