Americans can be so unbelievably ignorant and dense.
DEI isn’t even ‘hire a poc and overlook a white person bc diversity’ it’s requiring a poc be included in the hiring process.
Trump doubled his vote share with young black americans in 2024. Won the hispanic vote amongst men.

It’s fairly obvious that the GOP/MAGA crowd – driven by Musk and his elderly assistant Trump, are going after USAID and similar programmes for purely ideological reasons
They’re heavily leveraging the confusion (deliberate or not) between Official Development Assistance (ODA) and cultural outreach programs, all of which are seemingly lumped under USAID and it’s turned into a bludgeon to kill off extremely important programmes for purely ideological reasons.
It’s become a way of easily whipping up manufactured outrage when someone sees ‘USAID’ money being spent in developed countries like Ireland, Germany, Canada, Japan, or Australia—which turns out to be funding cultural diplomacy, not direct aid. These are the same kinds of programs every major country runs—the Irish Embassy does it in the U.S and all over the world, as do most countries – and also a raft of state backed agencies like Alliance Française, The British Council, Goethe-Institut, etc. They’re all about fostering cultural ties, promoting language, music, and basically building and expanding soft power and influence, not handing out aid to wealthy nations – but that’s how it’s being spun now.
They’re now just going to go around killing off every programme that’s disliked by the religious far right, anti-LGBTQ+ campaigners, conspiracy theorists, anti vaxxers etc etc etc and that’s going to hit actual essential development aid in places that need it badly – has serious humanitarian and health consequences.
I don’t know of people are getting upset about?
70,000 was a huge waste of money. Other examples of waste cherry picked by the press secretary were *“$1.5 million to advance DEI in Serbia’s workplaces,, $47,000 for a transgender opera in Colombia, $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru.”*
The argument officials will make is that this money should be used to help the American taxpayer through infrastructure of public works there.
And that is true, it would be very hard to argue about that with a straight face.
However what the press officer for US government officials will never mention is the approximately 4,000,000,000 the US government and by extension the US taxpayer gives to Israel every year.
That money could have built a lot of hospitals, fix a lot of roads et cetera et cetera.
Instead of calmly talking about this people are getting sucked in to lambasting trump and his officials over the wrong thing.
People need to stop taking the bait and stop pretending that the Democrats and the Republicans are two sides of the same coin.
We shudnt bother our hole sending out a few of our own heads to hand him a bowl of shamrocks! Go up to Canada instead 😄
