Considering Trump’s administration has only drawn red lines in favour of Putin (no restoring pre-2014 borders, no US troops in Ukraine, no NATO membership for Ukraine) and has already stated Europe must foot the bill for security guarantees, the EU must be preparing to reject any unfavourable deals.
Not only is it already a betrayal *per se* that Europe is again being divided by foreign powers without us having a say in it (in this particular case, Ukraine not being included from the start), but all the signs point out to Trump accepting some incredibly unsustainable deal that only favours Russia and hurts us in the process, all so he would have something to show for his fanatical supporters.
This could also turn into a make-it-or-break-it moment for EU’s foreign policy. Ultimately, if we are unable to control events even on our own continent, we are also done being a relevant player in global affairs.

Shouldnāt be a surprise. Heās been simping for Russia and shitting on US allies since the end of the Cold War. And they still voted for him.
They deserve all the bad shit thatās going to come their way as a result of this administration.

Would Moscow arrest Trump on Russian soil under Trumped up charges? Would Washington arrest Putin on American soil under international law?

The betrayal is complete. While Ukrainian soldiers die for freedom, Washington is abandoning themāand us. Their blood is being bargained away in backrooms where Trump and Putin play their grotesque game of human chess. These so-called “peace talks” are not diplomacyāthey are surrender on demand, a gutless betrayal that forces Ukraine to strip itself bare and kneel: surrender land, abandon NATO dreams, and submit to a tyrant.
Call this peace? Nah, this is treachery of the worst kindāthe kind that dragged Europe into disaster in the 1930s. This is how Hitler took Sudetenland: weak, spineless leaders who thought they could tame the wolf by feeding it. We all know how that ended.
But this isnāt just about Ukraine. This is about us. We made a solemn promise in the Budapest Memorandum when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons. We swore to protect their sovereignty. If we break that promise now, what are Western guarantees even worth?
And make no mistake: if the U.S. bows to Putinās aggression now, it declares the international order dead. China is watching Taiwan. Iran is watching its neighbors. If brute force is rewarded, nothing is safe. This is not diplomacy. This is a knife in the back of every democracy. Those who bow now will kneel laterāand when that time comes, no one will be there to save you.

Of course the President of one of the strongest countries in the world will go and meet Putin alone in Moscow. What will go wrong?

Whomever thought that Trump may after all be good for Ukraine now sees that delusion entirely shattered. Besides the comments around the āunrealistic goal of returning to pre 2014 bordersā, the US defense secretary said no NATO for Ukraine, no US troops and no article 5 protection for any peacekeeping troops deployed. Thatās essentially throwing Ukraine to the dogs and giving Putin the time to rearm and attack again.
This deal has to be completely and overwhelmingly rejected by European nations as well as by Ukraine. If the US maintains this policy, Europe should retort by announcing that the US is on its own vis-a-vis China and Europe will not support the US in any diplomatic or military conflict with China.

Why would you go all the way to Moscow? Isnāt there a better idea to meet in a more neutral place, like the UAE or Turkey? Iām pretty sure the US for optics wouldnāt wanna go straight to Moscow.
