This is probably the single most important infrastructure project in the country. Last year they were claiming that it wasn’t needed because “the power never goes out”. And now you have people up the North saying they don’t want the southerners hogging all their clean energy for datacenters, even though it’s all being wasted as their tiny grid can’t handle it.

Can’t we just pass an act of the Dail and get this done already. This is probably the most critical bit of infrastructure in the whole country that we need and it should have been completed 20 years ago.
