    1. Ukraine is not required to accept any Trump brokered deal as long as the Europeans are willing to provide all the funds they need to keep fighting.

    2. atchijov on

Lies, it will be full of lies. You can not let terrorist and conman to negotiate between themselves on your behalf.

    3. IshTheFace on

If Europe picked up the slack Zelensky could tell Trump to F off.

    4. bytemage on

That’s not being fearful, that’s being realistic. Anything else would be being foolish.

    5. Opposite-Chemistry-0 on

Trump and Putin are both just snakes full of lies.

    6. Visible_Bat2176 on

they will be not forced to take it. they will be offered any deal and then “good bye!”, they will go to the voters and say “we made peace, but they want war, ukraine bad” and if someone wants to fill the void they will be free to do it!

    7. DesignerOld8963 on

Basically, two bullies running the show. Useless Europe.

    8. Nattekat on

I deeply hope that neither Ukraine nor Europe agrees to any deal made between these two oligarchs.

      **TL;DR:**

      • Ukraine has always called its areas under Russian control “temporarily occupied territories,” insisting it will eventually regain control over them. This week, US President Donald Trump suggested it was “unlikely” Ukraine would get back much of its occupied land in peace negotiations.

      • Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the Trump-Putin call by saying his country would not accept a peace deal struck between the US and Russia without Kyiv’s involvement. Russia has a history of striking and violating agreements with Ukraine going back decades, a foreign policy expert says.

      • In 1994, Ukraine agreed to give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for guarantees from the United States, United Kingdom and Russia. In 2015, after illegally annexing Crimea and sparking the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Moscow signed a ceasefire agreement only to then repeatedly violate it and then launch a full-scale invasion of UkraineSeven years later, some 6 million people, including 1 million children, live under Russian occupation.

Trump and Putin are not discussing a deal for Ukraine. They’re discussing a deal for Trump and Putin.

    11. weaseleasle on

He is going to promise Russia, more than they have, and in exchange demand half a trillion dollars of resources from Ukraine for absolutely nothing. Then if Ukraine agrees, Russia will rearm and invade them again in 5 years, the USA will end up with nothing at all. Or more likely Ukraine says no, USA pulls their support or starts supporting Russia in exchange for a cut of the spoils they will again never see.

End result either way is the USA walks away with nothing, Ukraine loses big time and Russia gets everything they wanted. Unless Europe steps up and takes over support, possibly with rear guard troops to defend the Dnieper and northern borders.

    12. Well, we know one promise will be true… the pee tape will never see the light of day

    13. Snoo-7148 on

So reject it. Having to accept a closed door deal that will drastically affect your future which you have no way of affecting would fill me with hate and utter revulsion.

    14. mumwifealcoholic on

      Well yeah, duh.

Fuck America and its traitor president.

    15. wabashcanonball on

Trump and Russia are going to literally split up Europe in Saudi Arabia. That’s why no one else is allowed, not even Ukraine.

    16. PerceptionGreat2439 on

      Fuck russia and fuck america!

Both are exactly the same, full of shit and untrustworthy.

    17. Deareim2 on

Not only lies but also good excuse to stop delivering weapons and russian sanctions.

Might be crazy but I would not exclude a possibility the US to provide weapons to Russia after this,.

    18. ProductGuy48 on

Trump isn’t negotiating for Ukraine, he is negotiating for his own public image in front of his brainwashed 15 second attention span voters. He probably thinks he should get some Nobel Peace Prize for this. That’s what he cares about, certainly not Ukraine or the innocent people dying.

    19. HiChecksandBalances on

As they should be. The only time he tells the truth is when he’s admitting to election fraud.

    20. Background-Piglet389 on

Turns out relying on other countries to defend your borders isn’t a good idea

    21. Asleep_Horror5300 on

They’re 100% correct. Concessions and false promises are the cornerstone of any Trump deal.

    22. loseniram on

There’s literally no reason to accept any ceasefire that doesn’t involve atleast a return to pre2022 borders.

If Trump was ripping them off in exchange for their land back you could atleast make the argument of build some nukes and mine the border.

But their situation saying no on his current plan and saying yes is the exact same thing.

    23. OdinsBastardSon on

No need to fear that in uncertainty, that is exactly what it would be. When you put two pathological liars like Putin and Trump into same room, you do not get a word of truth out of that meeting.

    24. Good_Stretch5445 on

They should be, tango man has played his hand, and it doesn’t involve Ukraine or Europe’s interests.

He’s all for America, which he’s ironically dismantling, and he’s stuck up Russia’s arse.
He’s so fucking stupid, he’s gifting the crown to China, and Putin is close to achieving his goal, chaos in Europe.

This is a European issue, we need to step up, bring Ukraine in and end this madness.
At this point we’re just dragging things out, let’s involve Canada, Australia and New Zealand while we’re at it.

    25. AdminEating_Dragon on

      Well yes, it will.

Trump wants diplomacy to be replaced by “big guy grabs the toys of the smaller guy”.

Ukraine can always reject any Trump brokered deal of course, and rely on the EU and other allies (UK, Canada etc.) to step up and replace USA in military aid.

    26. Defiant-Onion4815 on

Please reject the deal so the USA can walk away from this new endless war. Let the Europeans pick up the slack if they want.

    27. krustytroweler on

      Spoiler alert: it will be.

We keep whinging about how we need to step up and take charge, and here we are 3 years later pussy footing around the idea of even shooting down missiles close to EU territory. Get on the phone and give Putin 2 weeks to cease combat operations. Start flying F35’s over Ukraine to shoot down missiles and drones, move SSN’s within range of cruise missiles, build up mechanized brigades on standby at the Polish and Finnish border of Russia/Belarus, and watch the Kremlin shit their pants. Phone up the Kremlin again and say it’s time to negotiate a peace settlement.

No amount of talking in Brussels is ever going to change anything. Russians understand one thing: power.
