No thanks I’d rather have no submarines at all than spend $60b+ on submarines that are useless in arctic operations. Especially German junk that is double the cost and half the capability like their new frigates.

Under ice as in it can go under the thinnest ice possible and can really only operate in ice free areas. The Canadian forces college has already published a paper detailing why the type 212 is not usable in long term arctic deployments.
The only submarine Canada should be buying is the nuclear AUKUS class
