Considering I don’t see it in our headlines, there’s probably a bit of context missing

It is not for Ukraine at first place. Maybe some aid ends there but this money is for gearing up european armies with eu-money.

Investment in millitary assets might not count to the defecit and there might be a bond to do these investments.

Only way to end this war is defeat Russia on battle field and let it collapse to small nations again, which will happen sooner or later. Russia has enough land with Moscow and StPetesburg and thats how it should be in the first place.

Might as well declare war on Moscow – just sayin’ it could be cheaper still.

700 billion?  Surely that’s a typo or some context is missing?

I hope they don’t go throwing so that money at the US before they’ve made commitments to support Ukraine and Europe.

Fuck yes, Europe. Hopefully this means we’re finally getting our shit together

If this is true expect at least 50-60% going to the eu to build military industry capacity. Still the rest would still be a lot for Ukraine

Shit. Trump is winning. I bet that’s EXACTLY what he wanted.

This is what is needed, the question is will Trump now try and help Ruzzia, now that would be a step too far.

    11. With 450 million EU citizens, this amounts to €1,556 per person.

If it helps Ukraine resist ruzzia, weakens ruzzians influence, and indirectly strengthens EU security, it should be seen as an investment rather than a loss.

If not helping, it would be increased ruzzian aggression toward other countries, massive refugee waves from e.g. Ukraine, economic instability affecting trade and energy, higher defense costs for EU nations.

So, it is a reasonable price to prevent much larger long-term risks.

      >“Realization that it’s not the U.S. which will defend Europe, but Europe defending ourselves with help from the U.S. means we will all have to move fast, Germany included,” he said.

      YES.

700b must be over a number of years or perhaps (i hope) its a fund to quickly build up European military industry

How much of that is immediate military aid. Cause Ukraine needs it now.
