Draghi is an ambitious Europeanist. Much respect to him.
But it is obvious there is alot of resistance from various countries.
Unless there is a strong, rigid incentive to federalize from most countries, it is not happening.

A defense union is an absolute no-brainer considering the current situation. The current system of 27 single militaries is too expensive and too unorganized. If we want to fill the gap that the US leave in Europe, we need a European army in the long term.

And whose opinion will take priority? Lets say, in event of crisis, will Germany and France decide or Slovakia, Hungary or Slovenia decide our common decisions?? I think we all know the answer to that question.
Then after all the virtue signalling is over they collect their salary and take no action.

You need defense from Russia: Moldova, Latvia, Litva and Estonia. Russia 100% will try conquer land way to it unclave “Kaliningrad”

Kick out Hungary.
No EU permission for countries who do not meet basic standards of democracy.
Should be an automatic clause of EU expulsion when freedom of speech and/or political corruption reaches certain thresholds.
The inclusion of Hungary as Russian ally in the EU will hinder efficient and swift decisions through Hungarys asshole tactics.

Yep. In an increasingly globalised world with multiple large belligerent power blocs – what is the practical alternative.

we needed EU federation or swiss style confederacy for long time

And tomorrow they’ll go back to claiming globalism isn’t real.

I have huge respect for Draghi. It’s probably very annoying for him that he knows exactly the problems with the EU are, and has given steps to fix them, and yet the EU ignores and meaningful action and just says “Yea he is right!”.

So, yeah.. EU will never act as USA, for example.
Everyday just words, words, words words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words, words.
