      EU will have some hard decisions to make very quickly, US is fading as a superpower and EU needs to decide if they want to become one to preserve and protect their values and do what is required to achieve that

      Not only does it affect Europe, but the US is suddenly going find tens or hundreds of thousands (out of 1.3 million active service members) of military personnel suddenly unemployed, and with the bitter taste of betrayal in their mouths. No job, no home, no health care, no benefits. I hope Europe can step up to the plate for Ukranine, perhaps with help from nations around the world, including my country, Canada.

      I think the US has played everyone from the beginning of the war…

      Fund the Ukraines to basically destroy the Russsian military ✔️
      They can now leave Europe after 70+ years of being the big stick that kept Russia at bay ✔️
      They can now reposture towards China ✔️

      It’s all an absolute shame. Especially for the Ukrainian people. What’s worse is the fanatical idea that the UK (my home) and the EU are going to be able to do anything meaningful now that the Americans have basically told the Europeans to f*ck off and start looking after themselves.

      Trump is about to sell out his own country to Russia for a few pennies on the dollar of oil and natural gas. Meanwhile China’s sphere of influence will expand into the leadership and market vacuums left in the wake of US retreat from Europe. The time is now for Europe to stand up and back Ukraine to the fullest extent possible. The miscalculations of US foreign policy leaders offer the opportunity to do so. Republicans in the US are cowards and have sold what was left of their souls to an actual devil.

      There is only one way to handle this and that is for Europe to truly commit to Ukraine winning the war. At that point you can tell Trump to pound sand. Otherwise Trump has all the leverage and as you guys have seen, that’s not good.
