      The US is no longer trustworthy as a guardian angel for Europe.
      Trump’s aspirations don’t include babysitting.
      He’s looking to make deals with other dictators and oligarchs.
      His taste for freedom is no longer palatable. He has no loyalties or ethics…

      And arming Ukraine properly in time would have been much cheaper than anything else.

      If we destroy the public services such as healthcare, education, pension funds then yes, getting armed to the teeth is extremely cheap

      There is no need for NATO if EU is armed to the teeth.

      Arming ukraine to the teeth 11 years back was even cheaper, but we are past that.

      Well as of today, billions of us arm contracts have not been canceled yet.

      Yes would agree with rearming, the next issue is conscipition or reserve forces and training, a standing army is expensive but a civilian army is cheaper and more effective. Really all citizenship should require minimum 3 weeks training per year with weekend brush up camps throughout the year that are compulsory up to a certain age or health

      Of course. But everything comes at a cost. Money for rearmament will come from social programs.

      As awful as this is, at least it all but destroys any chance of him using the U.S. military to take over the U.S. Id bet anything the brass in the U.S. military are seething at this just as much as the Europeans. This is a massive capitulation.
