They won’t do it, as it would make China and now the US pull out.

Just send some fucking troops to guard the safe-ish areas of Ukraine.

Just go full send with everything.

On what legal basis? If we seize assets (in all but in name is stealing), the message we send to the rest of the world is to not put their money or invest here in case there’s political disagreement with the EU. I’m all for supporting Ukraine, but unfortunately we need to foot the bill ourselves.

Let’s hope the EU is coming to the understand that bending rules that neither Russia nor US are still upholding is in the EUs best interest.

The real question is why hasn’t this been done yet?? What are they waiting for?

Orban farts. EU leaders shuffle to the podium to tell us they did everything they could, but unfortunately nothing can be done. Unwavering support to Ukraine is promised.

Not only that, one of the things that should happen in the negotations, and one of the consessecions that Russia has to make, should be that they need to help pay for rebuilding Ukraine.

So far all I have heard is about the concessions that Ukraine needs to make, well, lets put some on the table for Russia.

This was unlikely before and now with the US not only pulling out, but planning to increase their economical cooperation with Russia, this will not happen at all. What we see here is again pure virtue signaling not grounded at all in the realities.

Isn’t this how the US was providing support to Ukraine (at least partially)? Not by the confiscated money itself, but the interest on the confiscated money?
