Politicians over ruling planners for rezoning. This will end well. Definitely won’t build on flood plains again or do favours for builders and wealthy friends. No way. This is exactly why these powers were taken off them.

Zoning isn’t an issue!!!! There is an excess of housing zoned land factored into every county/local area plan already. OPR do a great job.

If you look on Google Maps and focus on all the train stations in North Co.Dublin, pretty much every train station is surrounded by vast amount of fields. Common sense suggest to build huge amount of estates there, would be perfect and easy access to transport.

Hmm, reminds you of that story where a couple bought a house near the river and part of the garden collapsed into it a year after… Something something shit planning job

The reality is that the lack-of-homes situation will be solved by a hundred decisions like this. Anyone who says there is a single simple solution is either delusional or trying to deceive. These things always change through many small decisions.

    6. zoning is NOT the issue with housing shortage.

rezoning and spurious zoning out of town when in-town zoning is there is EXACTLY what the developers want

We need more highrise apartments & duplexes instead of two story houses taking up farmland for no reason. Its time we copped on like the rest of europe did in high density zones.
