Stop giving credence to the quality of Russia. They are a fucking shitshow. 3 years in Ukraine and they’ve had their asses handed to them. If they tried it with Finland or Poland (NATO), they’d be whooped – the image of them sweeping over Europe is dead. Warfare has changed significantly and columns of tanks are just sitting ducks. Hopefully Putin & Trump aren’t too long for this Earth.
Also, a lot of people are just writing Ukraine off. They’ve probably got one of the best armies in the World right now and absolutely are not just going to capitulate.

Why Putin specifically? Existance of Russia as a state is a permanent threat to Europe, Putin is just a face of that threat. If not Putin, any other Russian leader’s words are just hot air and a new agression is just a matter of time.
