If all this trouble with the Orange US means that Europe finally puts her shit together, embraces “Gaullism” and seeks to become relevant and independent in defense and geopolitics. So let be it.

It’s great to see leading figures from different European countries come forward and present themselves not as Spanish, French or German politicians, but as European politicians.

PM Sanchéz said it in a different comment. Democracies biggest limitation is the power of the elites. Those who are so rich that they deem themselves above the law. He is right about that. Frankly, the other big power in a democracy, the people, are everything but united right now. And thanks to the efforts of the tech elite, the divide is growing.

We need great leaders now. People who are able to see past our differences and who will put Europe first, even before their personal gain. Who know what it takes. If these people step up, we will come out of this stronger than ever.

    3. From all world powers, the model of the EU is the most desirable one to expand.

It’s not “there are those who say…” – it’s “the US president said…” Call out the fucker personally, stop tiptoeinig around his arrogant and outrageous bullshit.

I wonder when the European leaders will finally understand what the internet is saying for a long time – don’t feed the trolls. Orange dude is, unfortunately, a troll with power, and he looks at all these leaders who are taking him seriously, and he continues to escalate. Of course, we can’t completely ignore him, but there can’t be this ongoing “debate” with him, it needs to stop.

its just not true. the eu was founded to be a counterweight to large superpowers (us, china, russia) instead of a bunch of smaller countries. at least on a economical dimension, were we could have been get pwnd one after the other if we stood alone. for example the euro is competition for the dollar that just would not exist without the eu. obviuosly thats not great for the us.

The EU was formed as a model of global governance by the US

I mean in a sense the EU was created for European countries to be independent from the US. It was not created to screw the US but rather to not be screwed anymore by the US.

I have always been under the impression that the EU was founded in order to prevent another inter-European war. The thinking was that by making all European economies codependant, there would be less desire for war and the costs would be too high. Or that’s what I was taught in school at least.

Actually let them attack European Union. The more they attack, the more Europeans will understand the value of it, and unite around it.

America got rich holding UK to ransom over world war 2, uk only finished paying them back in 2006

USA have always been self enriching, uneducated morons, they’ve just elected one as well now.

Offense with positivity while correcting the lies could be a better strategy with all this US shit show.
