Big brain Donnie, starting a trade war on two fronts. He’s a yuuuge genius.

      3 questions to ask:

      1. Why the delay
      2. What does he really want
      3. How much Mar-a-lago suites and Trump Tower floors does the EU have to rent to have this go away?

He’s waiting to see if threats and use of tariff triggers some signs of weakness in European unity that he can exploit. The reason is irrelevant.

It’s good that it’s a blanket tariff for the time being. I just hope he doesn’t start targeting individual states, but I’m afraid that’s what he will eventually do.

Whats the hold up? How many times has he anounced he’s going to announce it and then nothing happens?

Don’t tariffs hurt more the national consumer than anything else? Like when you import something you are paying the seller the agreed price and then you’re charged extra when bringing those goods home, so you have to sell them for a bigger price. Are American consumers OK with paying more for everything?

He literally wants to cause recession. He’s a russian asset. You don’t have to be a genius to see this. Good luck America.

He wants (my opinion) to accelerate to a global economic crash and for him and his circle to profit during said crash.

I think he wants to face China (he’s been abundantly clear he feels China is their main rival), but since (according to what Ursula von der Leyen said Xi told her in private) China is not taking the Taiwan bait, they can’t use military action.

There are other ways to try to disrupt China’s ascent and one would be to crash the global economy (which is the thing China is using to develop atm) and rebuild your local industry during the chaos. Maybe heavily using AI to direct a lot of this process, while they still have an advantage there. (Although I’m not sure they still have such an advantage)

I feel he (the USA) is anxious at China’s ascent and at the diplomatic and economic ties they are doing with other countries, slowly preparing for a possible Dedollarisation. That would really be a significant blow to the USA status as the global hegemon.

This is just a crazy opinion I’ve come up with because, I mean, I KNOW that they can’t all be imbeciles within his circle…. they must have a “plan”, no matter how psychotic.

    8. So he is announcing the announcement of the announcement?

He is good at signing papers and announcing things.

    9. How many more announcements until the final announcement is announced?

    10. Ezekiel-18 on

Well, the ones who will genuinely suffer from that, will be the American citizens. Either by increased prices of things produced locally due to more expensive imported raw materials, and by more difficult access to the quality non-American products.

American products are quite bad, in many domains what is produced in Europe, Japan, Korea, are much better brands/quality than their American counter-parts. So, he is screwing his citizens more than he is us.

I really want him to do it, hope Europe doesn’t fold and try to delay it. Stop playing his games

    12. RemnantOfSpotOn on

“soon”? Same way as Canada’s tariffs right? Orange kgb spy that cried wolf

    13. Tell me you don’t understand how trade works without telling me you don’t understand how trade works.

This will hurt the U.S. more than it will hurt the EU.

    14. No-Muffin3595 on

When? Because is weeks that it is continue to say these things. Do it. Buy European guys, maybe is finally the time that we decide to invest in our continent

    15. beflacktor on

it boggles the mind how he wants literally the rest of the planet to slap tariffs back on him, AND thinks that’s gona help him

    16. Sooooon. Almost ready. Any second now. oh… postponed to infinity

Worldwide recession will be a good thing for the radicals and populists worldwide.
      This is their plan.
      How can we stop this?
By stopping Trump, Vance and Musk.
