Breaking ties with a stronger country is the first step of bad things which may be wars, tension, coups, economical problem and others.

EU should be limited to economics, any european country should manage its own international relations and the EU should not take any role in that

    2. Otherwise-4PM on

At least it’s good to see that US administration is doing everything to unite us Europeans.

    3. Sounds more like safety advice. Which makes sense, since the White House is occupied by a rapist.

    4. The ambush playbook is real and we are being played for fools. Starmer and Macron came separately and barely made any impact. Zelenskyy came alone and got blasted fox-news style.

The separation is a tactic, not a hospitality.

No Euro leader should set foot in DC alone anymore. (Looking at you, Merz)

Apart from us English next time Macron etc go thru should only speak in their native language. That’ll surprise Trump. Get him to use a translator.

Just don’t go there, I want to see Vance coming here again.

What I think would make for “good television” is to have the other G7 Nations all show up on Trump’s doorstep, and then a couple other planes toting the other 31 members of NATO show up on his doorstep, with Zelensky in front where he would say to Trump “I am ready for my close up Mr. Trump”

“European leaders should never again go to the White House”

      Fixed it

No, we should bomb US back to the stone age. A great alliance with Canada, Europe, Mexico and China to take down the fascist US. Then the free world will cheer.

NATO is de facto dead. It will soon be so also on paper. America has been infiltrated by russian intelligence at the highest levels.

The attempt to appease Trump will never succeed, no matter how much more we spend buying american weapons, no matter what tariffs the EU takes on the chin, no matter what compromises we reach, because the ultimate goal of Russia is to destroy NATO and the EU, to incorporate Ukraine, the Baltic states and Moldova into greater Russia, to extend their zone of influence in Poland (they already have Hungary), Slovakia, Czechia and in the distant future to reach the other slavic nations in Europe, the Balkans. And now, through whatever dirt or material they have on Trump (Krasnov), they own the White House. They will not stop until they reach this goal. It may not be tomorrow, but in 20-30-50 years, this will be accomplished. And the rest of the great powers of Europe (Germany, France, UK, Spain, Italy, etc.) will become museums. Visiting spots. Until they decide they want to see how’s the weather there.

The only option to secure an EU future is for EU nations to have nuclear rockets, if not ICBMs. Armament factories in the EU should already be running 3 shifts, 7 days a week. Wake up. Become aggressive. Any Ukrainian sacrificial offering is just a postponement of what is already in the plans.

Another option is to attract Canada and Greenland in the EU, and to cover Ukraine’s back: everything on the left side of Dnipro under EU protection, boots on the ground and no flight zone in that area. Let the war happen on the right side of the Dnipro, let Ukraine free its soldiers from the northern border and protect Ukraine from any Belarusian attack there.

      Wooow.

I commend Europeans for their unity in the face of such adversity.

      100%.

Good for you!!!! I think I want a European passport soon!

Got to wonder how brutal the call with Danish prime minister was. If she met them in person, they might have been a little respectful but over a phone call, fat chance.

Never go alone when meeting thugs.

Though I’d say well not gonna negotiate with criminals any further.

Next time they go, they should pick up McDonald’s along the way to lighten the mood

Should never go there again. The US has alienated every single one of them.

Yeah just help each other and fund each other. We will back off

Tell me more about how Germany cares about defense.

    18. Prestigious-Neck8096 on

Nah, they should simply get their asses here to get anything done at this point. If they can’t show the bare fucking minimum of respect while hosting a diplomat, they simply don’t deserve to do so.

On behalf of sane Americans, we’d like to apologize for the Jan 6th traitor and those that enable it. We wish you all the best and insist on reminded you not to allow others to lie to the public for profit. We are slaved by a fews love of the root of all evil.

Go alone. Ambushes will increase European leaders popularity and our resolve.

    21. Additional-Golf4713 on

Saying that after both Macron and Starmer went alone is particularly blind, even for r/Europe and they won’t be the last.

    22. NotYourSweatBusiness on

I would say they should isolate Trump as he does not act as a friend, he even said he will seize Greenland and now he wants to rip Ukraine off. I put him in the same place as Putin. He is known to have ties to Russian FSB.

Canada and the EU must show solidarity in the face of tyranny in the coming years. It’s going to be a bumpy ride, but we must stand UNITED! 🇨🇦🤝🇪🇺

    24. Spursious_Caeser on

This isn’t how diplomacy works. You don’t not meet with people because you don’t like them or their politics.

That kind of attitude is actually the type of energy that the Donald Trumps of the world exude, bearing in mind that he is the only former President in US history that refused to attend the inauguration of his successor.

    25. Mountain-Fox-2123 on

What European leaders need to do, is get it into their heads that Trump is a Putin supporter and has made the US an allied of Russia.
