It may be you think Ukraine should fight to the end and secure military victory.
It may be you believe that ultimately there will need to be a negotiated peace, and Ukraine may have to give up some territory to secure that.
Even if you subscribe to the second view, which on balance I do, it can only be the decision of the Ukraine people. Equally our role would then to put them in the strongest negotiating position possible to secure the best deal, and then secure the peace. That is not achieved by cutting them off the knees, and shouting ‘you have no cards’. All that achieves is to hugely weaken their position and strengthen that of Putin in any subsequent negotiation. Unless of course that is your objective.

In my opinion, they really screwed him over in the USA yesterday.
Well, apart from the humiliation.
What is also not so well known is that two of the largest American news agencies were denied access to the White House (Reuters and AP), while even a reporter from Russian state television was allowed to be there.
Reuters is known for being able to report critically about Trump.
The political situation in the USA is really sad at the moment.
President Zelenskyi does know how to say “thank you”, as we can see and hear. He just needs a reason to do so, and Trump hasn’t given him any.
This is how you greet your guests. Specially if they come from war thorn country.
By the way, white house baboons traumatized this poor man to the point where he will keep saying thank you until he turns into Irish.

Yep, *even if* Ukraine would be convinced that ceding all occupied territory is worth it, that is Ukraine’s decision to make, and we should support Ukraine with money and arms until that negotiation or hopefully a better one takes place. Stronger support means a stronger hand at negotiations, so everyone from those completely convinced of Ukraine’s military might to complete doomers have ample reason to want to support Ukraine with money and arms. The only reason to want to stop support is if someone is as pro-Russia as Trump is.
