Horrific accident. I worked with older people for years now, and so many are in no shape to drive unfortunately. It’s a sad choice between isolation or tragedies like this occurring. Maybe self driving cars are the only future.
Roads not far from me. Runners would probably have been on the road. Tragic stuff

Was one here in Athlone last year, guy had a heart attack while driving, and smashed by a load of cars. An absolute miracle that nobody was killed or seriously injured that day
RTE are very quick to report the medical incident as a fact here. Surely the police are still investigating?
Another week, another innocent person killed. Time for people to be jailed and never allowed drive again if they kill someone while driving, I know this may have been a medical incident but in general its epidemic what is happening
My Toyota has lots of cool self driving(and emergency breaking) systems. I often wonder where my car would end up in the event of death or a heart attack. Probably the drogheada bypass tol booth,roundwood , or somewhere in wicklow
Not driving an SUV would have drastically reduced the injuries. Not driving a big fucking massive unnecessary car at the age of 80 in a built up area.
It’s funny that there is an ‘acceptable’ amount of deaths due to cars because of their convenience to us.
