      This during a period of war as well. The dress code is to symbolize and emphasize on a national struggle the leader is a primary actor in. They sought to bully Zelenskyy with all they could find.

      It’s a shame to compare Zelensky with Churchill. Churchill smoked only cigars and drank brandy.

      When considering appropriate White House decorum it’s worth recalling that on the above wartime visit Churchill once received FDR in his (Churchill’s) “birthday suit” in the bath, “breakfast cocktail” and cigar in hand. No innuendo intended.

      This was taken during the three weeks long Churchill’s stay in the White House, in the free time he was often wearing one of his “siren suits”, which he was promoting in the UK as a comfortable civilian attire for people to jump in during the bomb alarm, but also personally enjoying as a comfortable clothing.

      The UK never had elections between 1935 to 1945. The UK only had elections once Hitler was dead.

      Chamberlain was following the code strictly. Churchill, on the other hand, was drinking, was smoking, did not wear suits. If we had Chamberlain, Hitler jr would be the leader of Europe.

      My favorite anecdote about Churchill visiting the White House is that once, FDR wheeled into his room because he had just come up with the name “United Nations”. Churchill had already taken his clothes off and was completely naked, so FDR promptly left, very embarrased – but not before Churchill told him; “Don’t worry, the Prime Minister of Great Britain has nothing to conceal from the President of the United States”.

      Did Churchill come to Republicans (FDR was a Democrat) and got recommendation from them not to make any deals? Because according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) that’s exactly what Zelensky did.
