Moldavia might be, but I also read that azerbaijan is also a possibility. Whatever the case is I think it would be best to talk witch china to calm Russia. I don’t believe in US or Europe anymore.

I’ve been wondering how Romania would react, because a lot of people in Moldova have dual citizenship.
They would need to break entire Ukraine to get to Moldova. I don’t think they will manage to do that.
People seem to be forgetting the fact that Russia invaded the poorest country in Europe, expecting a swift victory in 3 days, we’re into year 4 with likely over a million Russian’s dead or disabled and only 15-20% of Ukraine captured and all their modern equipment gone. To think Russia is going to feel emboldened to the point they’re going to go after another country is a bit premature.

I don’t get it. They are the largest country on the planet. They haven’t even begun to exploit all the vast resources they control and they are struggling to even populate a large part of it all. Why do they squander even more Russian blood on a senseless land grab instead of outcompeting their geopolitical rivals by simply developing what they are already over endowed with?
Moldova is the easiest target ever, assuming they have access.
Romania, and to a greater extend, Bulgaria are much easier to control by funding and controlling “the patriots” and socialist parties, at least in the latter’s case, than bothering to invade.

Transnistria is already bankrupt. They got free gas from Russia for years and now owe the payment. Which is impossible to pay as it’s $4bn. And they can’t afford to pay for gas which means they barely have electricity for production or housing. And you want this to be the key area for war conduct? The people there are already without electricity, hot water, or running water at all. If things get worse you’ll see mass starvation and sickness in months. The whole population will disappear fleeing to Russia.
They literally can’t conduct a war. Moldova is the poorest nation in Europe comparable to some African nations. While Transnistria even now is below many poor African nations. They didn’t allow any private industry to grow. All was owned by the state and oligarchs. They have zero flexibility. Their population would surrender in a week.

I do have to ask what’s the average Europeans view on defending Moldova if it came to it if Russia got a land bridge to Moldova? Is it still “not until a NATO country”?
And not just them. The Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are under direct threat. They are surrounded by Russian ally Belarus, Kaliningrad Oblast and Russia proper on the eastern and southern borders, with only the sea to the west of them. Besides Russia and Ukraine, those 3 nations (along with Moldova) stand to gain or lose the most from the final outcome of this war. If the Russians succeed, you can bet your life they will launch an invasion of the Baltic states. Putin wants to rebuild the USSR. He already carved up Georgia and has a puppet government in Belarus. If he takes Ukraine, Moldova will soon fall (not an EU or NATO member and has no army) and then Baltics will be next on the list, especially if the US withdraws from NATO. Russia must be stopped here before it is too late.
They’re not touching Romania cause that’s straight up WW3 but Moldova is definitely on their radar as an easy pickings.

For Romania, yes possible to some manner, more like probable if Calin georgescu, his puppet sent to take over the elections (even by force as it seems why they canceled them in the 1st place), basically “inviting” putin to help restore order & bring russian wisdom in.
Some kind of fast & violent workaround for a any obscure casus belli that can go around the Nato articles even. A nation has to invoke the 5 to get help, Calin would definitely not do that.

Every day, it’s either Russia is ready to collapse in Ukraine or ready to be in Berlin in 3 years. My head is spinning.
The EU will wait for Putin to invade a NATO country to show real force. The sad reality is that all these countries are just contention walls. They will all be sacrificed to give the “nice” Europe more time to arm itself. If the EU were serious about Ukraine, they would have sent troops on day one to show that no invasion would be tolerated. Ukraine is given enough to survive another day but not enough to win.
They can’t even take all of Kherson, let alone Odesa, let alone Moldova. “Stopped” is not the most inaccurate word to describe their current state.
It’s time we push the invaders all the way back to Moscow all of us, United.
