This was the plan all along. Trump had zero intentions of maintaining support for Ukraine.
Isn’t the issue that actually legally they couldn’t do this and that’s why they haven’t done it so far, but now they are just trying to turn a page in the totalitarian playbook and take a piss on any lawful restrictions that the executive power has? Because it’s like saying “this company has a new manager now so we are not paying any bills signed by the previous management”. Legally when you change management or representative, you don’t get out of deals and obligations that you have taken under the previous management.

We can’t remove him. In all likelihood we are stuck with him for at least another 4 years. I think Ukraine needs to try and reorient itself towards EU and UK as quickly as possible. Trump is putin’s puppet and trying to please him or change his mind is a waste of time IMHO. Instead of applying pressure to putin to get him to soften his position, trump is applying to pressure to Ukraine, partly because, as he said, he doesn’t think Ukraine “holds any cards”, and partly (or mostly) because he just want to get into bed with putin as quickly as possible and Ukraine is just in the way. He’s a piece of sh..t in human form, and I hope Zelensky is not going to try to apologize to trump (for one, what is there to apologize for???). That whole revolting scene at the oval office was a set-up, plain and simple and an excuse to do to Ukraine what trump has been dying to do all along.

As much as I hate the thought, I see this going from:
“Zelensky hates Russia so much” and “Putin has been nothing but nice while Zelensky insulted me in my office” and “Ukraine really started it” to:
“We need to supply weapons to help Russia defeat the unfair Ukrainians” and “the only real way to be fair is if Russia wins ”
I can really see a policy shift so horrible we fund Russia and help the new Axis win.
I hope there’s enough in the way to stop Trump from doing that, but we’ve basically done everything in between except cut off all aid to Ukraine, which might happen this week.

Honestly I think the US citizenry need to wake up and start using their 2nd Amendment for what it was intended for.
He can’t stop the gear already allocated and paid for through 2025. That stuff has already been cleared by Congress and is way outside the purview of the presidency to change. If he tries, we will be facing a very direct constitutional crisis. He has tried this before and lost. The guy just doesn’t seem capable of learning this lesson.
Trump was impeached in 2019 for trying to blackmail/coerce Zelensky after also trying in 2017 and 2018.
